Results from Peninsula Invite

We had a great weekend lead by Nikki Gallegos with a  first place finish in  the girls division at 111 pounds going 3-0 with all wins by fall.

In the boys junior varsity division, Alex Gougousis went 2-1  with a second place finish at 120 pounds. Robert Delashmutt took 4th  going 2-2 with his medal match having to default due to injury in the 138 pounds. Anthony Gougousis went 2-2 at 160 pounds. Nicholas Bronson went 2-2 at 170 pounds.

In the varsity division, Brock McCarty took second going 2-1 at 220 pounds. Eli Blackwell took fourth going 2-2 at 126 pounds. Also wrestling was Jonathon Uhl who went 1-2 at 126 pounds, Octavio Torres who went 0-2 at 145 pounds, Sammo Blackwell who went 2-2 at 152 pounds, and Angel Romo who went 1-2 at 285 pounds.

Not all possible participants were available as some are still in a fall sport (football for example gets Folsom tonight in D1 round 2 action!)  Wrestlers can continue to challenge in future wrestle offs as their weight changes, skill levels improve, etc. I expect a competitive full lineup.

Congratulations to Tracy High Football

The Tracy High football team has qualified for advancement to the CIF SJS playoffs. Tracy will host the Turlock Bulldogs this Thursday at 7pm.  Some of our wrestlers will have to wait a little longer to be on the mat while they focus on another section title appearance.

Sophomore class comes back for more

At the conclusion of last year’s season, the freshman class were eager for another season. The time has now come and they are all working hard to get to the next level.  Who will join them in their quest?
